Float Trips for Trout Float Trips for Bass New: Combo Trip ask about the Super Grand Slam Brown, Rainbow, Smallmouth, and Striper? Thats right stripers are in the river as well and fun to catch! When the temperatures of the lake drive these big fish to cooler water it is possible to catch all these species on a day's float for the slam. Fly rods, reels, and flies needed will be provided on the boat. Meals Meeting Time and Location Deposit
Fly fishing float trips for rainbow and brown trout are on the tail waters of the Watauga and South Holston. Both rivers are dam controlled by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and bottom fed off of two local lakes. These tail waters offer prolific, year-round hatches and blue ribbon trout fishing. The best year round trout fishing in the southeast! Floating these rivers is best fished out of a Hyde drift boat, which is a highly effective tactic to cover more water than if you were wade fishing. However we will be stopping the boat to wade in some of the best spots. Floating is very convenient in high water conditions as well and an excellent trip for targeting trophy size trout or have very high fish counts. Trout trips are available year round, despite the colder weather, winter is also an outstanding time to fish for trophy trout.
The southern Appalachian mountains also offer some great smallmouth bass fishing. The Holston River and Nolichucky river can be fished from a drift boat or raft during the warmer months. These fish are some of the most aggressive and exciting battles on a fly rod anyone would enjoy. If you've never experienced this, your missing out on a treat! I offer both fly and spin fishing trips for smallmouth bass. Smallmouth trips are available from May through September.
Wade Trips for Trout
Also available year round are some great wade fishing opportunities on the tail waters or the small streams. Half or full day available.
